At Food Truck Depot, we're dedicated to providing a comprehensive, one-stop solution for food truck operators and the communities they serve. Our state-of-the-art commissary is designed to support the growth and success of food truck businesses while facilitating their vital role in emergency relief efforts. Here's what we offer:
- Food Truck Entrepreneur Support Services: Our facility is equipped to accommodate up to 12 food trucks, offering essential services such as parking, loading and unloading zones, and waste disposal. We provide access to water, electricity, and maintenance services to keep your food truck running smoothly and efficiently.
- Apprenticeship Opportunities to Grow Small Businesses: Food trucks have seen exponential growth in the past few years, and the trend has only continued since the pandemic began. They are already present in virtually every city in the U.S., and domestic annual sales exceeded $1 billion in 2022. Recognizing the power of food trucks to transform the way communities serve the underserved, we successfully established the first Department of Labor certified Food Truck Apprentice Program in the nation in 2021.
- Commercial Kitchen & Storage: Our commissary features a fully-equipped, commercial-grade kitchen with multiple workstations and cooking equipment, allowing food truck operators to prepare and store their culinary creations with ease. We also offer dedicated cold and dry storage areas to ensure the safe and proper storage of perishable and non-perishable items.
- Emergency Preparedness: Recognizing the critical role food trucks play during natural disasters and community emergencies, our commissary is designed to serve as a centralized hub for relief efforts. We maintain a stockpile of emergency supplies and resources, coordinate with local authorities and relief organizations, and provide training to our food truck partners on emergency response procedures.
- Networking & Community Engagement: We believe in the power of collaboration and networking. Our facility hosts regular events, workshops, and training sessions to bring together food truck operators, suppliers, and other industry professionals, fostering a strong sense of community and shared success.
- Streamlined Operations & Compliance: Navigating the complex world of permits and regulations can be challenging for food truck operators. We're here to help, offering assistance with permit applications, food safety requirements, and other compliance matters to ensure your business stays on the right track.
- Delivering Dignified Dining... At Scale: Food Truck Depot has significant capacity to make a positive difference in our communities. Utilizing our unique currency of caring program we can economically serve hot restaurant quality meals to those struggling through out the region, dramatically reducing the number of food deserts in Southern Illinois.
